BAMBOO AS A BUILDING MATERIAL
The Bamboo Green Wall is part of the exhibition space as the fifth trial of an innovative building system, which uses bamboo as raw material modular, low cost and low impact. Its research is directed Cardenas fact to propose the distribution of these building material, because it has great potential in technological, environmental and economic. The design for the exhibition "From the Nest to the shell is composed of two main fishing grounds. The first consists of Guadua Angustifolia bamboo culms 10-12 cm in diameter, 6 m high, thanks to which it is possible to appreciate the material in its natural state, with stems slender profile and straight. The second wall is self-supporting with experimental technology BambooBlock. This construction method allows to find the stems of bamboo formwork not to be missed-that overlapped and secured on time, give the possibility of collisions, more or less permeable to the eye and very tall.Furthermore, modules of different sizes stacked to allow them to place the green roof. This structural system provides, in the case of the construction of a housing unit, land use as filler blocks of bamboo, ideal for providing stability, thermal and acoustic insulation.Transparency and opacity of BambooWall is achieved by the juxtaposition of forms in order to focus attention on key points such as corners of the broken line. The project is then due to a very specific kit, consisting of components to be mounted to dry in place, with the help of a few simple tools needed for assembly. The interesting feature of the project regarding the environmental issue, is that the forms, once assembled, can be reused as ensure high performance and consistent performance to the second, third and fourth mounting. The materials of the project are few and low cost, in fact, the project includes the provision of thirty-six culms of bamboo with many bases of tufa, while the supporting wall is made up of about three hundred BambooBlock of six different sizes, part of which is filled with earth for the placement of aromatic plants and ivy. Lighting is located at the back of the wall with lights that illuminate from below the picturesque scene.
