A PAVILION MADE OF BOOKS
Response to the Madrid Book Fair contest is a pavilion that, in a certain sense, may be defined as “made from books” and “made for books”. The strong project signal, the big library/ bookstand wall that in fact Interrupts the simple geometric linearity, is presented as a kind of “dorsal spine” capable of/with the purpose of delineating the environments and designing the cover, that has been thought to favour entrance of natural light. “Books are light, knowledge is transparency”: the higher part in glass opposes the big walls apparently blind: Opening panels connect directly the interior with the exterior, changing in fact, the configuration of the pavilion, open during the day and closed in the night. The panels are conceived in OSB with a natural colour in the exterior and white inside. competition - not qualified.
