MALPENSA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT MAIN ENTRANCE
The project represents a sort of filter, an intermediate space between the arrivals and the departures in Malpensa Airport. The structure consists of light and flexible elements, where the green is used as a device for acoustic control, natural lighting and solar protection.
The competition required the design of a work in the airport of Milan Malpensa at the tunnel linking the FNM Malpensa Express train station and Terminal 1. This project is strategic as it represents the connection between the airport and the surrounding context by daily by high flows of people (car parks, train and bus). The project requires a space / covered walkway and green with a high aesthetic value and impact that show being a first “port of Milan” for those
coming from abroad. It proposed a modular cover at different heights composed of many elements on high pillars, which, visible in particular in the plant, is able to compose a piece of land from the bustling and synergies that flows through it.
