REHEARSAL ROOM FOR PERCUSSION
The pavilion for the Mascherenere Theatre Laboratory is the result of an innovative acoustic experiment which employs sustainable materials and technology. Sand filled cardboard tubes, easily obtainable and easily assembled/dismantled, become elements that, dry mounted on a steel structure, acoustically isolate the pavilion, permitting the tranquil development of the activities carried out within.
The project Mascherenere-Acoustic Box of Mauricio Cardenas was selected between 81 proposals in the contest "Equivivere. For sustainable architecture" by a jury of Architettando Association Cultural, Flavio Albanese Director of Domus, Federico Bucci Historian e critic of architecture and Luigi Scolari President Association of Architects Foundation P. P. and C. the Province of Bolzano. The project will be exhibited in an exhibition to be held from 22 May to 4 July 2010 at Palazzo Pretorio in Cittadella (Pd) and will be published in their catalog.
