A ROPE HOUSE
Reflecting on the 'Linking People', the theme of 25th edition 'Abitare il Tempo at Verona', Mauricio Cardenas created a small house using simple, flexible materials. The objective is about the construction of a prototype for an emergency shelter, and, the theme itself of the “Linking People” event, has led to the idea of a house made of rope, which the user himself can bring with him in a rucksack, and take out at the time of construction. The rope can also be useful in an emergency, and ultimately, can itself become an instrument for the construction of an emergency shelter. The idea is that of being able to make walls through infinite layers of rope placed on top of one another, with a single beginning and a single end. With this rope, it will also be possible to create openings and entrances on different sides, by making the rope itself follow a particular path, which leaves parts empty, and parts which constitute the covering.
