A NEW GREEN CORNER
Largo Cusani is considered an area of “clear” between the draft environmental well-established island of Corso Garibaldi-Brera. The aim is to propose a design solution compared to existing linear, able to integrate into the existing urban fabric. For this reason, the project provides a new green corner usable by all users of the area, where he planned reuse of elements already present in the neighborhood to create a continuity in pedestrian paths and streams that converge on the Piazza del Duomo, the Castello Sforzesco and Brera. The inclusion of a speed-bump the arrival of Via Via Giuseppe Sacchi Cusani, facilitates pedestrian flows, and limited architectural barriers. The green zone is designed with a planting of tall trees that leave the unobstructed level walking and provide cooling in summer and an effective noise filter. At poaching of pavement is used the same stone of Corso Garibaldi and Via dell’attigua Cusani, and the trees come from the grids containing the roots, making maintenance very easy and simple. Seating and lighting complete the space finally stopping, making it comfortable but also safe at night. The newsagent is finally moved and repositioned on the corner with Via Cusani, in a new volume of transparent glass allowing visual continuity but also protect the back of the green. Remains available to the fontanel also passersby to drink, already present.
