A STRUCTURAL GRID
The concept of the project entrant to the competition "I Portici" in Frosinone, has inspired of natural environment. Therefore from the desire to reconnect to the green fabric, the abstraction of the mountains creates a hill. This hill is giving organized pathways to the place through the application of three cuts. The first, corresponding to the residential axis, permits to access in the longitudinal direction to living cells. The second, corresponding to the axis of trade, it connects in the transverse direction to the park with the commercial axis in Via Aldo Moro. Finally, the third, corresponding to the axis of solar energy and natural light, permeates the entire building structure. In fact, the form of the building is not limited to the geometric of the hills. The decline of individual living cells from lower levels is allowing the various levels of green, not limiting to the organism plant. I portici are supporting the hill, therefore interpreted with contemporary steel drums as an urban, which the branches of bamboo contrast to the trees of gallery. This would configure as a highly element in the project, verify innovative manufacturing system (bamboo with steel and glass) the tradition of the Frosinone. The nature also fits in architectural intervention with the presence of materials, especially bamboo and it's present at various levels, in gallery in the ground floor, and also in facades. The architectural design is due to a grid structural that allowed us to create accommodations and flexible and activities modular.
